Wisdom Tooth HELL

Went to the dentist - Wisdom tooth needs work - $2000- $3000.  This is not shaping up to be a pleasant time for either my mouth or my bank account.

1st of October

Tomorrow I start my yearly attempt to return to fitness. I am such a blob for 9 months of the year that I really dread this necessity. So tomorrow I am going to attempt to jog and walk to school all in the same morning.... Better get to bed  'cause tomorrow will be a big day.

Busking

Victoria went busking for 35 mins today and earned $42 ! It didn't last long however. A Sims 2 add-on and lollies put a pretty big dent in her earnings. The kids have hols now so they are up to Nana's for a couple of weeks (touch wood) We will have the house to ourselves!!!

"Next Blog"

Whenever I press the "next blog" button I get inspirational blogs and/or religious blogs. As an atheist, I feel my bile rise into the back of my throat. Are all blogs this shitty or are there real people that the search engine just doesn't choose?

Time fixed..... Violin Concert Tonight

Thanks Kevin. Time stamp is fixed.

We are off to the end of year concert for the girls tonight. No more trips to Junior Symphonia on Thursday nights. Another sign that the year is winding up.

Time error on my posts....

Hey! this is Thursday at a little after 7.30 in the morning not Wed at midnight!!! It seems that Blogger is a little behind the times....

WInter decides to stay on...

The wind blew out one of our sliding doors last night resulting in a visit from the glass company today. I can remember this kind of seasonal change when I was a kid but haven't experienced it for a while. Could this mean a nice hot summer? Roll on December and let's find out. We might do the Rail Trail this year so a week of no rain would be much appreciated.

By the way... Just one more week before Mr Key's GST increase... 15% Although this is in line with other OECD countries 15 just seems so much larger than 12.5. On the bright side personal tax is due to decrease along with company tax. Net tax gain by the government from our family though. :(

Funny story from last night... ANZ bank had flown two senior staff from Auckland  to the mayoral function. Their aim was to smooze the Chinese agents and the schools so that we cold help facilitate ANZ to be the primary deposit bank for student fees (and sundry costs). NZ requires that students prove financial ability by having money sitting in a bank account for a length of time before applying for a visa. ANZ wants access to that money. Anyway 2 local staff and two execs turned up to the function and were around pressing the flesh.  When I was talking to them I remembered that as part of our school's orientation we take students to set up bank accounts on their first day. I was pretty sure that Ginny took our students to ANZ so I went on about how great their service was and how much business we had put their way. Then I remembered that one of the bankers had visited the school recently  to meet the staff and that I still had the name card in my pocket- I pulled out the name card to show them....and it was the National Bank. A little awkward.

No chicken wings...

Back from the reception.... disappointed. Fingerfood only. Such a let down. Still, I get to have more fun next year because I am going to be on the executive committee of Education Dunedin. My major project next year will be chicken wings for any council function.

Free Food Wednesday!

Education Dunedin has paid for 8 agents from China to fly down to Dunedin specifically to see show them how we can look after their students. As part of the trip there will be a mayoral reception in the Early Settlers Museum. This means ONE THING!  CHICKEN WINGS!!!! I love being on the council gravy train!!!!!!!

Hurray! and snow....

I remembered my password! I have other languishing accounts because I can;t remember my passwords...

This one will be different!

It is snowing outside and the Invercargill indoor stadium's roof has fallen in due to too much lying snow - narrowly missing some tennis players. Typical bloody spring. Tomorrow will be sunny and warm for sure.

Another Post

This is another post to test if I can upload images. There should be two photos. 1) A meal in Beijing at a shopping mall. 2) Me at the Great Wall somewhere near the top of China.

The first blogpost....

This is the first blogpost. I have nothing valuable to say to any reader. This will probably be a common problem.
